Gabion and Concrete Structures

Structures are made for each site: spans, height, loads and connections are calculated for actual site conditions.

Fitting barriers into the site

A gabion or concrete barrier line should cover the selected area while preserving passages, operations and emergency access. Foundations, module joints and any future relocation need to be resolved before fabrication.

What we clarify

  • Define barrier continuity and required access openings.
  • Check the base and nearby buried services.
  • Preserve access to valves, doors and equipment behind the barrier.

Where barriers are placed

Gabion and concrete modules may be used around a perimeter or locally near tanks, transformers, gas regulating units and entrances. The layout preserves working passages, valve access and equipment maintenance. Module mass and dimensions affect the foundation and installation method.

What the gabion standard covers

GOST R 52132-2003 specifies mesh products for gabions; its stated scope is erosion protection and landscaping. It does not certify a wall's fragment or blast resistance. For a defined impact, the complete assembly, fill, support and connections need assessment.

Local Protection with Service Access

A barrier is laid out around a defined asset rather than assumed across the entire site. The plan checks the impact scenario, foundation space, ground conditions, vehicle and personnel routes, and access to valves and equipment. Fill and connection details follow the project.

Fragment-resistant walls around perimeters and individual assets, including tanks, transformers, gas regulating units and entrances. Installed without wet construction processes and removable if needed.
